2017 has seen International Animal Law (“IAL”), as part of the registered charity "Animal Law Matters", implementing key education programs promoting legislative development in a manner that results in realistic shifts that benefit not only the daily lives of animals but also the well-being of people and our shared environment.
The highlight of IAL’s 2017 was the “sentience seminar series” which brought together a vast spectrum of animal professionals who kindly gave their perspective on what it means to say that an animal is sentient, and how legal recognition of animals as sentient will likely change all current uses of animals e.g. in industry, entertainment, sports, research, and agriculture.
Further initiatives are planned for 2018, and information regarding those will be shown on IAL. Stay in touch, and please invite your friends and colleagues to join in the discussion, the movement, and the evolution affecting animals and people alike.
